So I’m blogging about a slightly different topic today. Most of us young women are using some form of birth control. If your anything like me, I can be forgetful at times so “the pill” was out of the question for me. I came across this Depo Provera Shot that you only have to get 4 times a year - no periods and only one shot every 3 months…sounds great right?? I thought it sounded good….well after my fourth shot which I got at the end of march I am absolutely 100% REGRETTING this decision. 4 shots later I have now gained 40 pounds (after working hard to lose 50 pounds 2 years ago), I gained about ten pounds within two weeks after each shot. I didnt research the depo provera shot before I started getting it and my doctor said nothing about the weight gain, however an internet search shows tons and tons of complaints with the same weight gain issue I have had on this shot. My new doctor instantly suggested that I discontinue this shot because it is famous for rapid weight gain.  Everyone please do your research before choosing a form of birth control! I would never recommend this shot to anyone, the last shot was the last one I will ever get.  Just thought i’d share my experience, if anyone else has had these issues with the depo shot feel free to comment with your own stories.
